A very rare 1st pattern M6 (not M6A1) hood. This was the first type issued with M17 gas masks in the 1960s. This type lacks velcro attachment points and a zip front closure which were added later. It features a metal clasp adjustment rather than the later leather stopper. This is the only example I have seen.
