Vietnam War Fall of Saigon USMC M1 Helmet Set

A perfectly preserved, unaltered, and undisturbed M1 helmet, worn by a US Marine, displaying a rare 1969 dated ERDL camouflage helmet cover. Several period photographs show Marines wearing ERDL covers on their helmets during the fall of Saigon in 1975, and this set perfectly represents this brief, yet incredibly significant period of the Vietnam War and US Military history as a whole. This helmet belonged in my collection for several years, but it is now finally the time to pass it on to someone who will appreciate the historical value and display it well.

As mentioned, the helmet was found exactly as it is shown. By matching the wear, rust, and patina on the metal parts to the fabrics, I am confident in saying all components are entirely original to one-another and the set is practically untouched since the 1970s. The fabric of the cover is folded and formed to the shell in such a way that would be completely disturbed if it were to be are removed and stored seperately. The parachutists liner is also typical for Marines during the period.

The complete set includes:
Rear seam McCord shell (heat stamp reads M 330 A)
Original chinstrap with black-anodised hardware
1967 dated parachutists liner
Wartime sweatband
Wartime nape strap
1969 dated ERDL cover

All parts are present and in good condition and the helmet displays well. There is real wear from use and storage and can be seen in the photos, please study them carefully.
